Help with things you may be finding more difficult or can no longer do

Introduction

Introduction

Home care services are provided by experienced and trained care workers who work for private care providers registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Care workers can visit you in your own home to help with things you may be finding more difficult or can no longer do. This could be personal care or help with some practical household tasks. This is often for a short time until you can manage for yourself again.

You can get help with things like

  • getting washed and using the toilet
  • getting out of bed and dressing
  • undressing and going to bed

They can also support your family members and carers with these tasks – or to give them a break.

You can arrange and pay for home care yourself, choosing the type of help you receive, who provides it, and the amount you want at the times you want.

You can find more information on the Somerset Council webpage ‘Home care and support’
