My name is Victoria and I have lived in the South Chard, Tatworth area of Somerset for approx. 10 years. I offer personal care, as well as practical and emotional support in the local area.
For many years, I have provided support and personal care on an informal basis to family, and residents in my local community. I have helped arrange housing, obtain benefits, liaised with doctors and consultants, as well as providing emotional support, advocacy, companionship, cleaning, personal care and much more.
Qualified to level 4 in counselling, I have extensive training in empathetic communications and active listening, and always endeavour to build a meaningful working alliance that is built upon trust, understanding, and acceptance. I am trained in mental health first aid, and have worked at a local SEN school, supporting children and young people with a diversity of mental health conditions, learning difficulties, trauma, neurodivergence, and brain injuries. I have also volunteered at various organisations supporting adults in the local area.
I have a bachelor’s degree in health and social care so am well versed in safeguarding, risk assessments, and the relevant policies required to provide these services. I am compliant with all legislative and regulatory requirements, so you can feel assured that the service I provide is safe, ethical, and that your wellbeing is priority.
I champion a person-centred approach, and the services that I provide are personalised to suit your individual wants and needs. As my client, I want you to feel supported, valued, and autonomous, so all support is decided and directed by you. I have provided a list of potential services but please note, this is not exhaustive, my personal and professional experiences have provided a secure foundation of transferable skills. I am happy to accept new tasks, and embark on further training necessary to fulfil needs, providing requests are within my proficiencies, and the boundaries of micro providing.
