I started my career as a qualified nurse working with adults. Throughout my working life I have always found this useful as I am able to understand diagnoses and some treatments, I can also identify if someone is becoming unwell and needs to seek out medical attention or family assistance. From nursing I moved into Adult Social Care working with older people with physical disabilities mental health struggles or dementia. Both my parents had dementia and I supported them for many years. I have always had empathy with these service users and would like to think I have gone some way in improving their quality of life. I enjoy spending time looking at photos, talking about their past lives and sharing a joke or two. I have now retired and miss the interaction of meeting others. I value what older people still have to offer and am always interested in what they have to say. I live on the border of Somerset and Wiltshire and know most of Somerset having lived in Cheddar Wells Compton Dundon and Shepton Mallet. I also live very close to the A303 which gives easy access to South Somerset. The Mendip Area along with Frome area are also easy to reach. My business name is made up of the letters of my children and myself’s forenames which makes it special to me. I enjoy giving companionship shopping household tasks dementia care terminally ill care and importantly respite to carers. If my diary permits I could provide overnight care on a short term basis or support for someone to remain at home if they were disinterested in day care.
