Connect Somerset Champion Sue, highlights how working in partnership has helped create a much-needed resource for young people in South Somerset.

After engaging with the local community in Queen Camel as one of the area ‘spokes’, it was apparent that there was a gap in youth provision in the area.

In partnership with the parish council and funded by Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP), we have set up a new youth club for young people aged 11 to 14. Each session focuses on healthy eating and physical activity.

Our youth worker, together with several youth club attendees, recently presented the success of the new club to the parish council as part of their annual parish meeting.

SASP is a Connect Somerset partner and is dedicated to increasing the health and happiness of residents in Somerset through physical activity and sport.
