Description

The Wincanton, Castle Cary and Bruton area has several registered childcare settings, although very few childminders. The Balsam Centre can advise on childcare in the area.

The Centre also welcomes children, young people and families in a range of projects and activities including toddler groups, weekly breastfeeding café, maternal mental health project, early years and parenting support, life skills, Duke of Edinburgh Awards and Forest School. Parish youth groups run in Henstridge, Milborne Port and Queen Camel, with Wincanton, Bruton and Castle Cary expected to start youth activity groups during 2024. Watch out for Balsam play and activity days during the school holidays!

At The Balsam Centre www.balsamcentre.org.uk you’ll see services, support, and activities for adults of all ages.  Everyone is welcome at the Chat Café on a Monday, and on other days we have Citizens Advice, Department of Work and Pensions, a cancer support group,  dementia support group, help for domestic abuse, a Men’s Shed and lots of intergenerational, creative, skills and physical activities, encompassing arts, textiles, cooking and food growing, health walks, flexercise, yoga, tai chi and Pilates.  Come into the Centre to find out more!
